See Ya In Heaven

In the ten years since I officially retired Had trouble keeping my old brain active A major activity that's filled the void It's poetry, which has kept my brain captive Owe my well being to this wonderful site Anxiously checking my inbox To see who's sent me these glowing responses Check it before putting on my socks Addicted, I'd have to say that's true But life would be quite boring without it You people boost my ego every day Might survive but I really kinda doubt it So on my tombstone they'll probably inscribe He died in an extremely poetic way His last words rhymed as they closed the casket “That's all I have to offer today”

This made me tear up especially the ending, such a sincere and poignant write this is, and definitely poetic, those rhymes and flow of your lines are truly sublime and seamless. I felt it as i read “ So on my tombstone they'll probably inscribe He died in an extremely poetic way“ what a thing to write and say. I think many can resonate with this touching write and soup is full of kind soupers so supportive too. I agree. Its an absolute pleasure to be able to read poems like this. Fave!

Im so sorry to hear about that, its always disheartening when rejected, by any anthology. Please do have a look at some interesting contests right now going on: one is “ read me” and also one im hosting, your work deserves to be read by more, wishing you a wonderful day ahead.

Very nice words in reply to my poem dear friend! You are so sweet, I have a different approach with a more comedic flair! BTW I purchased our book "Reflections On Important Things" As expected, I'm not included as expected... no surprise! lol

It's become something of a sanctuary for us all Jack. If I happen to get to the pearly gates before you, I'll bribe St Pete to let you in saying, "It's okay Pete, he's one of us" Tom
