Secrets

Fire burns, crackles,
Beckoning, guiding,
Drawing, warning.
Teaching each its secrets,
Telling a story long forgotten,
Threatening each of danger,
But bringing, comfort to the lost,
It sings the song of life and death,
Its secrets known and yet well hidden,
waiting for the travelers call,
guarding against the shadows danger,
bringing joy to the weary heart,
hurting the unwary,
maiming the strong,
but telling its story,
to people who seek its light,
enticing and repelling,
guarding its secrets well,
all you have to do is listen,
and well,
maybe, just maybe,
the fire will tell you its,
Story.
