Secrets

Secrets...Buried deep inside me is so much pain.
I bury myself in my poetry, but it's all in vain.

Secrets...Fills that dark void, consuming all of me.
Leaves me paranoid, and feeling I have no security!

Secrets...Would people care, or would it be just no use?
I know life ain't fair and I wondered why I suffered physical and sexual abuse?

Secrets...I keep it all balled up inside, and I just can't find release.
Those secrets I hide, and I can't seem to find no peace.

Secrets...I try to reach out to others, but don't trust a soul.
I'm scared to get close to another, and it's hard to maintain self control.

Secrets...My ex-wife left me for another man, because she couldn't handle the time.
And I completely understand, and so i bury myself in a rhyme.

Secrets...I'm in love with a woman, but want my cake and eat it too.
She wants to give up on me, but only if she knew.

Secrets...How can I say to her, she's like my momma rebirth?
After my momma passed I never thought I could find that love again on this earth.

Secrets...I must get this off my chest, and I hope you competely understand.
That my aching heart won't rest unless you forever hold my hand!

we all have our secrets. it seems, as we age, the past secrets taken on less weight in what holds us back - there is so much "forward to happen" that will eventually outweigh the past - as i know from my life experiences. the pain will always be there, it just becomes less important - and this is something to look forward too. continue to lead your life, your style, with goodness and God, give more than you receive - and everything will work out - just ask God. thank you for sharing, chuck

A beautiful heartfelt write sharing of your fears Jimmy. Giving them a name will not make them an unknown entity anymore. Bb Wilma

Very touching and I feel you. This is one of the things I love about you..your honesty and openess..just amazing..still, be cautious who you tell your secrets to, JAM. Not every one has a heart as yours. Much love, PB

This is beautiful Jimmy, gosh, we all have secrets, not so much unlike yours, and we have been hurt also.. I put my pain and hurt in my poetry.. I often write of my childhood, because, I think it is the only time I knew unconditional true love, I thought I had found it again with my husband, but God had other plans, I hope you find that perfect love and she takes that hand you offer from your heart~~

Nicely done, Jimmy. Touching. Well written. Good meter and rhythm. Something I bet many people can relate to and either empathize or sympathize with - which makes it more appealing. Thanks for sharing your "Secrets". Joe
