Secret Lover

Beneath the shadows I crawl just to see the lace fall off your shoulders. As your gown tumbles to the floor each curve reveals your beauty. As the brightly lit room turns black your body snuggles beneath the sheets. Then I watch. Closer and closer I become to you. The heaviness and softness of my breath struggles both fighting to win. Your eyes bore holes right through me and at that moment when I think you’ve seen me The intensity comes. As I reach the window seal, I hear it. A crack of a branch beneath me breaks. A short scream and bright lights all come rushing in my direction. As your fathers’ pistol is shoved in my face I feel no fear. What I do know is that because of those moments all I’ll ever feel again is you.
