Second Chance

The sunshine and the rain
The sky without stain.
The blossom on the trees.
The buzz of bees.
The waving grass on the plain.
The flight of swallows, swooping again.
The gentle touch, look and smile.
Without guile.
All that is beautiful and free.
For you and me.

 Suddenly the sky goes dark.
The Devil makes his mark.
With rain and wind, I'm lost and blind.
No shelter, forward or behind.
The thunder and hail of the storm.
Falling on my form.
Cold, wet and forlorn.
White face, lips blue.
Rigor mortise my cue.
I want to live. I want to give.
Right all the wrongs.
Sing all the songs.
A new life to make good.
All the things I should.
Another chance I plea.
Please forgive me.
