Secluded Art Gallery

Tiny little hole in the wall
Their real business putting on plays
But wee mini art exhibit
Open to the public
During the day

How I loved to slip away
At lunch time
Just a five-minute walk
Entering their park was so peaceful
For the workaholic in me
A most self-pampering outing
A rare delectable treat

A church-like silence greeted me
Quiet yet ever so intense
And there they were
Art pieces clamoring for attention
Craving for any bit of admiration
Sometimes the works were amateurish and disappointing
But for the few times they were awe inspiring
It was magnificently grand
Either way always worth the outing

I have known many places like this - places where inspiration waits - "clamors to be noticed." Thank you taking me on a lunch break with you into those places where artist and visitor meet. Congratulations on your winning placement.

I am jumping up and down with the possibility of finding this particular art gallery now, Line. If not it, at least one relatively like it. I want that church-like silent feeling.

Works of art are fascinating indeed. Before I moved to the sticks used to go to a museum and art gallery and the old paintings were a joy to see.Love the line a church like silence. Tom

Interesting Line, I was just working on my art gallery today, which is a rustic art gallery remotely set up in a separate dwelling at my home :) Nice poem!
