Notes About The Poem

59 Police Officers in Seattle, WA were injured Monday night, July 27, 2020 by a vawriety of weapons and explosives in a violent riot by 'peaceful protestors.'

Seattle Peaceful Protests Intensified

'Peaceful Protests Intensified' --

  So the morrow's headlines certified
But how'd reporters turn blind eyes
  To fire-bombings that terrorized
  a downtown stunned and traumatized
  Why was ugly violence euphemized
    ~ as 'Peaceful Protests Intensified'

Enjoyed the rhymes and message. I don’t know why the Media insists on using “peaceful.” The phrase “peace peace when there is no peace” comes to mind.

Ha, ha! I can answer your question. The media uses the term 'peaceful' because to them 'War is Peace!' ~ George Orwell (Is it 1984 yet?)

Trump still following Hitler's playbook, with his personal "unmarked" (as yet) Gestapo subverting law and order so local authorities can be replaced by Trump toadies. A few toadies can easily transform a peaceful protest into a terrorist mob because some want to romp and others can not escape. Take care! Aloha! Rico

Funny... It seems to me that Trump and the rioters are each going to such extremes that they'll wind up kissing each other when they pass each other in the opposite direction... We'll see... Aloha, gw

I was waiting for these peaceful protests to intensify - all around the world where thousand upon thousands crowd the streets, there are always some trouble makers, and the rest do not take long to copy them, Excellent write Gershon I believe the same as Lindsay. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

200 years ago no one knew what was going on at the moment because news traveled by horseback. Today, even with instantaneous news, we still don't know because the facts are manipulated by the news agencies. Nicely penned, Gershon. Cheers, John

You make a superlative point in your comment, John. The more things change, the more they stay the same, somehow. We remain in the dark, even with all the information we have! Thanks, Gershon

Is there no end to this madness Gershon? I bet half of them dont know what they're protesting about. Tom

Ha, ha! They're protesting for the sake of protesting, if nothing else, I'm afraid! :) gw

Hello Gershon ... I've said it for a while Gershon. There will be a world wide revolution in an attempt to clean up corrupt political systems and these riots might be a sign of things to come in these times of anger and hate - thank you Gershon - Lindsay

I have a funny feeling that you're right, my friend... The new revolutionaries are so often more corrupt than the old 'establishment' was: Out with the old bums; in with the new bums. Power corrupts, as they say (justifiably). Peace and Light, Gershon

You are quite the optimist... We are witnessing the beginning of the _____________ Fill in the blank. One thing, for sure: Only a harsh winter will kill these protests. ~ Realist

Sadly, there's an awful lot of lies, half-truths etc. In certain mainstream politicised media outlets. Perhaps even more so in an election year. I trust that the American people in their wisdom will remember those who supported, aided and abetted the violence and vote accordingly to punish them.

It sure would be nice to see these cowardly politicians reap what they've sown... Instead, they'll be elevated to higher and higher positions, so twisted is the electorate these days... And so it goes.. :) gw
