Seasons of Mackinac Island
To see her lilacs in the spring,
And smell their elegant perfume.
To hear her bounty of birds sing,
Tell of summer coming soon.
To wander her dark paths at night,
With shimmering stars above to guide me.
To watch the fireflies dance with delight,
In a forest enchanted with history.
To witness her Emerald forest,
Become a many jeweled crown.
To see the winds blow from the west,
To send her gems scattered to the ground.
To see her in winter is joyous delight,
In her purest and most lovely state.
She wears a soft blanket of white,
Amidst the shimmering icy lake.
