Seasons

Seasons Each season she will rise Changing them with her sighs; to tame the seasons with no shame In life none can share blame; you see Because she sets them free Taking the old, so we can play Refresh the earth each day, the land she rules with iron hand
My attempt at this form! It is called a Luc Bat form! The luc bat is a Vietnamese poetic form that means “six-eight.” In fact, the poem consists of alternating lines of six and eight syllables. This form is interesting in its rhyme scheme that renews at the end of every eight-syllable line and rhymes on the sixth syllable of both lines. xxxxxA xxxxxAxB xxxxxB xxxxxBxC xxxxxC xxxxxCxD xxxxxD xxxxxDxE And so on. Luc bat poems have no set length or subject matter, and some run on for thousands of lines.

I love to watch the seasons change, somehow it makes me feel alive and renewed right along with the scenery ... Your poem is so powerful in both it's words and it's imagery. Very nicely done Brenda!

Ahh Gershon thank you so much! I haven't gotten a potd in awhile but I'm not complaining as long as you and others come read! It is a difficult form to do but it was fun trying it! Thank you Gershon so much!;)

Mother Nature knows what she's doing, and we partake of what she offers us. I had never heard of the Luc Bat form, but you appear to have grasped it with apparent ease. I am tempted to have a go at it. ~ Warm regards // paul

Hey -- this is damn good stuff! One of my favourite poets, Ezra Pound, experimented with various poetry forms from lots of differing cultures, and I am quite positive he would have embraced "Luc bat" with great enthusiasm...it would have suited his writing style perfectly; come to think of it -- would lend itself to mine as well! I am most impressed with this, Brenda...was it something you came across...or was it something you researched? Whichever one -- most compelling! In administration. :) j

Yes she would be Mother Nature! I had it planned where I would explain it better but started to get lost in it so I just stopped at the eight lines! Thank you!;)
