On the edges of a Spring dawn
Flying high in the breeze, so soft
Grows the breath of lilac’s hope
Freshly mown grass
With a hint of sweetest rainfall
On the border of the Summer sun
Rising silently from the warmth
Comes a salty sea, a whispering wind
The sultry trace of lavender
And roses that laugh with happiness
On the rim of an Autumn morn
Breaking loose the limbs from pines
Come the sighing caress of a storm
As leaves gently curl and swell
Sending suggestions of dark, dry earth
On the tones of Winter’s silvery snow
Drifting with lights that stroke the moon
With loving expressions of joy
Discovered in the moist adoration
Of prayers reeking of pinecones and holly
The scents of nature, both gentle and bold
Whisper to me through seasonal growth
Which erases all the worries of the past months
Igniting the grace of a compassion with each moment
As it fills the spirit with assurance of God’s love
