Seasonal Motifs
The entrancing note that soothes the soul,
Brings inner chaos under control,
Like a bell upon summer dawn tolls,
And lifts the weight of daily chores.
The beginning of a fragrant whiff,
Began when roses were still in bud,
Now grown dispenses their springtime gift,
Lovely bouquet for one’s beloved.
The rustling of leaves in restless play,
Babes-in-buds when the springtide was new,
Now dance an elaborate ballet,
Biding autumn its timely adieu.
The freezing embrace of winter’s norm,
Stripping the trees of lovely foliage,
Bringing in the bite of winter storm,
While life shelters from its deadly rage.
