Seashore Summer

Seashore Summer

Humid August nights and the heat stands still
Starfish trapped on beaches wait for low tidepools to fill
                                 ~
Summer phosphorus float like stardust on the tides
Then leaves a sparkling footprint on seashores to abide.
                                 ~
Rippled sands can't wait to meet a sly and bold blue wave
Who steals kisses from the shore - a stargazer knave.

I love this, especially "where the heat stands still." That is so aptly descriptive. Even with her flaws, summer is divine.

I just happened to see your reply! Words like a paintbrush, really swirl as yours do.other words are beautiful in other poems yes..but your words move, How fascinating…I knew my daughter was bright, she was in many adult seminars with me at age 8! One of her funky teachers told me, no kidding, she’d be lucky to be a hairdresser?? I almost decked her, LOL. I had my daughter tested at the U of SF! She is indeed gifted. She started three political groups and held public office twice, I am not going to go into her other achievements, she is fun, and compassionate to all. Raised a fantastico son and has a great marriage. Mothers can see things nobody else does, your writing impresses me without smothering me! Woman, you are a natural.! Panagiota xxx

Hi Pangie! Heartfelt gratitude coming your way for your lovely message! Thank you for stepping into my summer portrait with me to enjoy this summer night. The memories of summer nights on Puget Sound are really like a painting! It gives me immense joy to know that these words became a paint brush! My mother, a teacher, always said I was the busiest child she knew. I guess it shows. Hope you are doing well. Your healing continues to be in my prayers. Sending you many blessings my friend!
