Searching for myself
I am searching for myself,
The one who once walked by my side,
In the corner of a closed room,
Where dreams were penned with pride.
I sought the open sky,
Yet, inside, I wove my own web,
Like a spider crafting its thread,
Building dreams in silence instead.
Sometimes, my heart would race east,
At times, it ran west,
Dreams, so restless and fleeting,
Left me exhausted, never resting.
I chased the light in search of hope,
Then ran toward darkness with no scope,
Countless dreams, yet to be fulfilled,
I grew weary as they all stood still.
Tired, both I and my dreams,
Unrealized, caught in endless streams,
Now even dreams have ceased to arrive,
Abandoned by sorrow, no longer alive.
With dreams gone, so too my drive,
Maybe I, within, have lost the will to strive,
And in the end, I lost myself too,
All because I couldn't see it through.
