Searching
Searching for peace in darkest of places
Your mind can’t rest, only races
Searching for love in strangers you meet
Finding heartaches are all that it reaps
Searching for ways to fill your time
Wanting your life to be defined
More hours spent at the workplace
Trying to fill that empty space
Searching for a way to erase your past
How long will the guilt haunt and last
A drop of affection, only a trace
Tears constantly streaming down your face
Sleepless nights you toss and turn
Only to rest, your body yearns
Your fears follow, throughout the day
If only, you could chase them away
Searching for joy in silver and gold
Only sadness, your heart bestows
Depression slowly creeps within
As your soul drowns in sin
To look up, we must hit rock bottom
A plea for our sins to be forgotten
A touch of God’s Amazing Grace
Our sorrow, fears and strife replaced
Contentment you will not find in a world so lost
Only in He, who bore the cross
Fall to your knees, bow your head
Welcome to the living among the dead
