Sea of Stars

Watch stars stream from my eyes
Cascading down my cheeks
Becoming shooting stars
And if I just close my eyes
Maybe I'll be a dreamer

Reality is so very mundane
But I feel the breath of the ethereal
And into your eyes I gaze
Knowing the best is yet to come
If only we could believe

It used to be easier to dream
But I will squeeze my eyes shut tight
Praying I dream every night
For that is what holds me steady
It is what makes me whole

Watch a sea of stars blossom
A radiant river for hopeless eyes
Following effervescent rays
Eclipsed by immortal memories
By dreamers like you and me
