Scented Leaves
the stunning crimson blade,
fragrant-
with the ease of autumn’s
chilled breeze,
saturating mother nature
with aromatic grace
tangerine setting of the sun,
reflections in reveries of leaflets-
ambrosial embers igniting,
raking piles and piles of deep
vermillion perfume;
it’s the essence of awe as I fawn-
looking out at my back lawn
rusting blades of autumn spread
across fields,
once sown with seeds of wildflowers
now glazed with tangerine and
medallion foliage
soft scented season of savor-
sniffling a breath of fresh autumn air
