Scecnes From the Asphalt Homeland

Let the city spread
its dark wings tonight
    Welcome the strangers who
have come here
As a thousand shades
are drawn
   in as many rooms
wind blowing from the east
     the strangers wait
to feel
    the power of
the urban life they have chosen
the asphalt homeland
         welcomes all those
who
      walk into its arms
A strong brew - this city life
       but invigorating
                     to those
   who are lucky enough
to breathe in the life of the metropolis - taste
the heady vintage
     mellowed by age
  which is produced by
the fantastic blend of cultures
which makes our urban landscape
one filled with mystery and joy
