You grieve for Autumn, watching Her leaves die,
and as emotional tears build, you cry.
For Fall becomes the harbinger of death,
watching Her leaves die; you grieve for Autumn.
Autumn drapes the land like a scarlet shroud
for sensing the cold approach; Summer cowed.
And acquiescing to Winter's command,
like a scarlet shroud, Autumn drapes the land.
You feel a chill creeping into your bones
as the wind moans with ghostly overtones.
And treading on remains of Autumn's kill,
creeping into your bones, you feel a chill.
When Winter arrives; snow softens the stage
for a vibrant Lady, not one of rage.
And guaranteeing that Nature survives,
snow softens the stage when Winter arrives.
