Scared To Move On

Where do I go from here
Because of the past, my heart is filled with so much fear

I try to move on but it doesn't work out
From the get go, I know what they were all about

I never thought I'd finally run into a man
A good, real man

Then you came along
And proved me wrong

I'm kind of scared to move on
So please give me the strength and be my backbone

Make me understand that it's okay
That even though men broke my heart in the past, a good man is right here in my face

I want to be able to trust again
To have a man who belongs to only me and me to that one man

Are you that man?
If not, please leave so that I won't hurt again

Yes, there will be downs
But hopefully more smiles than frowns

If love will grow, love me for me
And love me tenderly

I will have no problem loving you
Because I will feel the same way you do
