Scales of Life

One way or another

We play life's double down game

Love's dime to ensure childhood investment

On the way up

While age creeps

Creases the feathers in your sleep

A resilient waking to turning wheels and open skies

Out from the throne

Your desires thread my ascent

To sit and speak alone is a robber's grone

I know all the money drained and went

No fear gathers, lives just rinse

Fingers through the dirt searching

But the scales of life have no shape
