Saying Goodbye
I am bad about saying goodbye.
I hate doing it.
I don't want to do that,
at all, ever!
It makes my heart heavy,
my legs get stiff,
and my arms hang at my sides...
empty... waiting.
But for what?
I don't even know.
I just,
finally wave...
and you go.
Saying hello is better.
Saying I will see you again...
is even okay at times,
and rhymes with jello.
Everyone loves jello.
It is sweet and easy to eat.
Goodbyes are bitter...
and burn,
in turn.
I don't want to say goodbye.
Instead...
Let's just say, hello and go,
and then come back again...
and say hello
and know
that forever is
just a breath away.
We need to remember,
that we are passing by,
and to say hi,
to everyone,
as often as we can.
We need to stand...
up for each other,
and love one another,
until we can not.
