Say My Name
Say My Name
I lie here and consider the night sky
The stars flickering as clouds
go drifting by
Time skips
Across the fingertips
Of God
As I drown
In a vast desert
Of want
Can you hear how my heart beats
In the rhythm of love?
Can you see
like me
The stars burning above?
That's just how I feel
Like a candle
Crying waxy tears
I'll simply melt away
If I never hear you say
My name
Why don't you know me?
I am so lost and lonely
As I wait
How long until
I finally see your face?
A wonder to behold
Whether young or old
Your beauty is
Within your soul
Just once won't you
Hold me in your embrace?
Everything is turning gray
But desire never fades
I catch the scent of the wild flowers
In the warm breeze that push the clouds
Across the dark sky
So I'll
Stay here
Crying waxy tears
As I nurse the flame
Hoping to finally hear
You say
My name.
