Say goodbye to yesterday

Feelings tortured, waterboarded...
by my fractured mind
Emotions keep good thoughts...
held bound.

I keep suffering in silence...
No one ever knows
Please tell me what to do
to survive.

Am I crazy like they say?
Even in the bright light, I am blind.

Mental games I keep on playing
with myself everyday
Sad memories replay from years gone by

and take control of my thoughts?
time heals , they say, so why do I still cry?

Darren White June 5, 2017 at 12:50 PM I do not understand why i took me so long to discover your poetry, I am slowly working my way through the poems. This one resonates with me on so many levels. I used to play the violin, used to dance, none of that is possible anymore. But I have my words, my poems. And I live with my sister since Christmas. People often think that I feel sad, but I am not. It took me a while, and yes, from time to time it is hard, but I am happy with my life in general, and I have great friends :) John Hamilton June 5, 2017 at 3:35 PM Better late than never Darren, glad you like this one, it was written for a friend who is stuck in the past, he's 72 years old. To know one has support of a friend can often be the first ray of light out of the darkness.
