Satisfaction
Your wings are beating,
Your claws are dug in,
But my urge is fleeting -
Doubt sits on my skin.
Now I ask you sincere,
“Why are we still here?”
What was a simple
Black and white time
Now bears shaded dimple
That ripples my feel
And crumbles my belief
That our together appeal
Will grant either heart relief.
Let us pass on by
This physical attraction.
Let us bear in mind
Our logical reaction.
Later, years from now,
Should I think of you,
I will know satisfaction
Recalling nothing happened.
