Sassy Runs
Mornings in the backyard Sassy runs
She runs and runs with speed and power
Circling the old boys she growls like a grizzly
Dive bombing them with snaps to their heads
Genghis snaps and barks back
Kublia looks for a escape path
She does not understand how strong she is
trying to coax the boys to play but she is rough
Soon the boys scatter everyone for himself
While Sassy runs encircling the yard
She is happy and free running to run
Kicking up the grass and dirt
tongue hanging out
The boys sneak their way under my chair
their is refuge
I throw a stuff toy in the air
and she leaps and snaps it on the run
clinging to it with her mouth
She drops and grabs it drops and grabs it
as she flies through the yard
She circles my chair and the old boys stare at her
she is crazy
Finally she whines down and stops
sitting on the ground with her head up high
panting the good pant with a big doggy smile
One ear sticking straight up the other folded down
inside out making her cute as a big puppy she is
Burn that crazy energy girl run yourself silly
She looks full grown but is still a puppy
Ten months old with a sweet baby face
The old boys feel safe to spread out with caution
In the mornings Sassy runs.
