Sara's Haiku

male red cardinal
sits on rim of cold bird bath...
chilled water awaits

male red cardinal 
sleek black feathers around beak..
flies up into tree

female cardinal
lands on rim of cold bird bath...
quickly drinks flies up

female cardinal
on one side of willow tree..
male on opposite

spring a long way off
winter's cold here to stay now...
survival mode

I really really enjoyed reading these Haiku as the cardinal is probably my favorite bird of all the species of birds! We have them here in the winter too, they are so majestic in their appearance, at least the male ones are very special looking! You poem painted a very specific and lovely picture my friend! I loved reading this delightful and wondrous piece this morning Sara! What a wonderful display of nature you have painted, Great Work!!
