Notes About The Poem

Sands

sands in my hand
     trickle as I close
my palm to grip them

    I whisper your name
as my teardrops
    flow with the sands

Somehow I understand this... and can feel it sift through my hand as I read it. Wow... Well written indeed. Provokes a physical response. Well done! Ann

Hello once again JCB - This entry can stand on its own and is more than a contest entry. Truly. Your title is poetic all on its own and your words follow its poetic expression. Your writing and work to be proven skilled work. Thank you for sharing with us. Enjoy poetry soup.

Congratulations JCB! This deeply touched my heart with its pensive melancholy and sense of trying to hold onto a lost love like trying to hold sand! Wonderful metaphor! Wonderfully done. Blessings to you.

Very nice. Line loves this kind of poignancy so I can see why it's a win. I love it too.
