Sand Through The Glass
The sun descends from the sky,
Another day now at its end.
More grains of sand slip through the glass,
Measuring the time I have left to spend.
It makes me wonder to myself,
Is all I've done truly enough?
Will God welcome me with a smile,
Or will I be another soul to rebuff?
When God looks down from his throne,
Will he be pleased by what he will see?
Am I squandering this gift of life,
That God has bestowed to me?
I know not the secret of life,
Nor how to live it the correct way.
These answers I will only learn,
When I face my judgement day.
