Sanctuary IV

You know, I am mad and angry
Thanks to the government
We're like a nomadic family
We are moving from bad to worse
Every scheme, every plan I had
Nothing works some people tried to help
But to no avail
Our situation looks pale
I was glad to be born
But now I wished I was dying
No relief from my pain I am sighing
I can't let life pass me by
I got to get down and try
Work it out this lifetime
When looking down the road of blame
I look to my name
I carry my cross of shame
The truth is like a blood stain under your fingernails
The hardest whisper to hear is within
I guess my turn has come
You won't see me turn and run
I am standing my ground
I am not laying down with my face in the ground
I am not just a face in a crowd
I'm putting my pen to this page and help
People without a voice
To shout it loud
We're part of humanity and we are alive!

Hi there. I love how your poem went from hopeless, to strong mighty and fierce!!! YOU are the voice for those who feel they don't have one, and you use your pen, your gift of words, to stand up for people! NEVER give up, Matt. Never. I'll be back for more.
