Salvation and hope

A sliver of hope crests the mountain
Not a wave or a fountain
Just a small dash
That hopefully won’t be ash
A new type of medicine on the horizon
Enough stress to make the heart tighten
Will it work, no one knows
In theory it should I suppose
Something to make the voices go away
Before the mind goes into further decay
Waiting for them to arrive
Praying for them to make her survive
Just a few more days to go
Of the mental anguish to grow
One little pill, could stop this in its tracks
To stop every hallucination attack
It could bring back hope
And stop this slippery slope
Make this a life worth living
Not clinging on and just surviving
The wild thoughts could disappear
And make every brain cell clear
To be able to do normal activities
A life with endless possibilities
Is this hope or a salvation
A platform for new construction
A brighter more prosperous future
Or will it be just a suture
There is a lot pinned on this pill
It could be a mountain or a hill
It may take motivation to get this right
Or it could turn into a traumatic blight
Either way there is still hope
Another way just too cope
The future rests on this development
We will know soon if it’s just an experiment
Fingers crossed
That soon they won’t feel lost
