Salute To a Man of God
Psalm 116:15 of the Scriptures declares, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”
That truth speaks well of the heavenly promotion of a man of God. As one who has been blessed by his life, I want this poem to testify of my gratefulness to the Lord for using this Pastor to fulfill His assigned task in reaching out to others for them to come to know the Saviour Jesus Christ.
Praise God for Pastor Eddie Porto and his life, blessed truly
Always assertive, he testified of the Creator’s greatness constantly.
Saved and sanctified is he thru His trust in the Lord
Trusting Him as his Saviour according to His Word.
Obedient to the Master, he followed His sovereign leadership
Resting in Him, he found rejuvenation-revival in His sweet fellowship.
Exemplifying stewardship-faithfulness
Diligently, he trained young preachers with steadfastness.
Doing God’s will by the Holy Spirit’s fortification
Influencing others through consistent Scripture-impartation
Earnestly, he expounded Bible doctrines with the Lord’s empowerment
Preaching zealously the Messiah’s grace-enrichment.
Offering to the Lord his utmost and best
Ready now is he to receive his reward of full harvest.
To God be the glory for Pastor Eddie Porto’s victory
Only wrought by the Lord along His Gospel story.
May we, his children, grand-children and great grand children in the faith, be inspired by this Pastor as we salute him for his Christ-centered and faith-anchored legacy, and be reminded of one of his favorite verses: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
