Salty Rivers

If I were to close my eyes or dare to blink I'd sink in salty rivers of tears on my cheeks I wonder how long the flow will continue to linger My fingers tire but cannot wipe them all away I feel the burdened weight of my sodden lashes fearing the gashes in my heart will go on bleeding June 6, 2023 Bite Size no 65 Contest Sponsored by Line Gauthier

Powerful bit size poem for the contest, Lin. Pain and loss are both hard to overcome. That want to be recognised over and over. Good luck in the contest, my friend. Bill

Quite a sad scene you paint with your words Lin, A scene we all encounter from time to time. Hope you're on the mend now. Tom

Thanks very much, Deb. My time away with family was great until I caught the flu.

Heya Lin, hope that flu is not getting you down, some very raw emotion going on here, yet metaphorically brilliant, great to have you back and almost in one piece, cheers David

Likewise Lin, you and Mark have got me through the most challenging times of my life since June last year and the phrase that's what friends are for have never been more true. I am so happy to be writing again and working on my book project which is so exciting. I may write poopy silly poems but at least people read and enjoy them:-) hugs jan xx

You are my longest friend on this site, Jan. We've been through lots of joys and sorrows together and I always look forward to your comments. I am so very pleased that you've returned. Thank you, sweet friend for your remarks and for always being with me when I need you.

Lin, in your six lines, with your stunning imagery, you have eloquently exposed deep grief and mourning - the burden of pain unhealed and the deep fear of the heart that the pain will not be healed. Best wishes for the contest. Your words leave their signature in the heart. Blessings my friend! Have said it before but will say it again, so wonderful to have you back in the soup!

Sam, it's comments and friendships such as yours that welcomed my back that have me continuing to write in PS. I've been away and then battled with the flu, but somehow managed to post a couple of things this morning. Thank you for the kindness of your thoughts.
