Sailor Dad

My dad loved sailing. He sailed so many times with mum before my siblings and I were born. Paternity didn’t slow him down. He still found time to sail despite being saddled with a plethora of responsibilities. I wonder how he was able to do it. Sailing brought him so much joy. It was his energy booster. We sailed several times with him. He'd say, “Son, do you know my one wish?” We'd both say it together. “To sail to an unknown Island where nature dwells in its pristine state.” I miss those memorable days. My dad is my forever hero. Happy Remembrance. July 25, 2022.

Thanks for sharing this tribute to both your father and his beautiful dream. I'd like to have his dream come true in my life, even if only in my mind. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Wow! It's so good to know that you also sailed with your dad.
