Sailing With the Stream
tears again
happiness belongs to others
alone
sitting at the end of this long, rock jetty
will a prince rise out of the sea
carry me beneath the waves to Davy Jones' locker
another myth
like this life I lead
filled with frogs
high jumpers with web feet
clinging to me
ensuring no human contact
frog princes are fables
just slimy green reptiles
gripping like seaweed on the rocks
hah, frogs’ legs taste like chicken
hail to me, the chicken of the sea
alone
happiness belongs to others
tears again
