Safety Measures

I am tired of the denial
Refusal to face the facts
Not learning from doctor’s reports
Not listening, so that we can plan
What is happening is unfolding,
All around us every day
No matter how it’s minimized,
The virus will have its say
Truth will emerge beyond,
Anyone’s trying to control…
What others believe right now
It is a time to work together
Not a time for carelessness,
Or accusations against truth tellers
It is a time to appreciate the gift of life
Treat it with conscious, gentle gestures
A time to adapt for safety measures

John Watt March 9, 2020 at 5:50 PM Heidi, thank you for this clarion call. Now our Xenophobia comes out with Asians being profiled as more likely to be carriers. Others are hoarding water, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper and re-selling it at a markup. Where is our humanity? Heidi Sands March 9, 2020 at 6:45 PM You are welcome. I don't know where the humanity is. People are buying too much at once here at one store and not going to others, leaving shortage for others. One store will not have hand sanitizer until August! Tom Cunningham March 8, 2020 at 3:06 PM Too little too late, they knew about this last year and things like travel bans should have been enforced to minimise the spread of it. Of course that course of action would cost money, but it's going to cost a hell of a lot more now. One airline in the UK has gone to the wall, Flybe. Italy has gone into lockdown, weddings, funerals, sporting events all put on hold. It's got to be all or nothing. Tom Heidi Sands March 8, 2020 at 3:13 PM Yes, true Tom. Here, one of the biggest problems is not only hospital personnel with no gloves or masks on, but ...lack of space. Our hospitals fill up on ordinary days. Later, they will overflow.
