Safe Haven

Long warm wrap-around arms
Keep me close, far from harm,
Strong steady confident hand
Holds mine tight, you understand
Cold, dark, gloomy nights
Fear of facing wintry tides.

Loving, warm, soft-smiling eyes
Lighten darkness, brighten life,
Soft, silent, passionate lips
Soothe the pain of past regrets
That started slow with petty storms
Lingering on from dusk to dawn.

Caring, wise, sensitive self
Helps me grow from weak to well,
Yet, I know deep inside
You can only be a guide
Who helps me face the tempest times
That I'll surmount and leave behind.
