Sadness

Sadness, weeping’s thief, leaving behind the ghost of memory. Sadness, idle sound of silenced footfalls. Sadness, thorny stem of tortured rose. Sadness, longing for the loss of loss. Sadness, soft prickly sting of love’s embrace. 2/9/2017 submitted to - Sadness – Poetry Contest
