Sad Songs
There are many,
too many sad songs
those that bring their memories along;
the ones that make me cry
just another one of dreams recurring
the melodies of living and dying
the loves of a lifetime long ago
resurfacing to return us
to the saddest pleasures we know.
Which one do you hear
did it bring back every tear?
Let them play one more time
slow dance me
through the dream denied
and as I close my eyes remembering
what messages will you be sending?
Come away with me,
waltz slowly into the melody
of sad songs locked tight in our memory.
