Sad Life 1-10

Sad Life At three years old my parents divorced Father got full custody Mother, visitation rights My sister and I were too young yet still we understood Into our life another came and she begat a younger one who stole away the one we loved and left us all so saddened at school one day a woman came a stranger with a car we got inside so happily not knowing what awaited we arrived at the building so big, so gray inside was our father he told us quite simply, you are going away we arrive at a house we are brought to the basement a large room full of toys next door, a bedroom you will stay here the adults say this is heaven When are we going home we ask you are not When are we leaving? you are not this is hell A temper tantrum the adults don't care they stick me in a corner and tell me to wait I wait, until the sun has gone down you may go to bed now one of many late nights I took a thing that wasn't mine I knew it was wrong but I did it anyway an alarm is installed it shrilly screams whenever the door is opened the circus, hooray but I do not go instead I am locked away with only a pot to pee in I escape through the window to play in the yard a permanent mark on my record Pequa, my love, the only comfort I have a tiny plush donkey i take everywhere at school he is found at home, taken away i haven't seen him since
