Sad Is the Midnight

Sad is the midnight with its cloak of darkness, When the world is quiet and the air is starkness. The stars above, they twinkle and shine, While I sit alone, lost in my mind. The moon in its glory, watching over me, As I toss and turn, longing to be free. The silence surrounds me, like a heavy weight, As I search for solace, and a way to escape. Memories flood my mind, of love and loss, Of moments that were priceless, now forever lost. I wish I could turn back time, and start anew, But the past is etched in stone, and there's nothing I can do. The night is my enemy, it mocks my tears, As I lay here alone, with my fears. My heart aches, my soul is heavy, Sad is the midnight, and its melancholy levy. So I'll close my eyes, and drift away, To a place where my heart is light and gay. Where the sun shines bright, and the skies are blue, And the darkness fades away, like morning dew.
