Running On Empty

Running on empty on a winters day
Car slid on the ice, as I started to say
Something magnificent, which didn’t stay
Gone quickly on that winter’s day

So I took out my pen, and my hands did flay
The ice had them shaking, so I spun away
Put my gloves back on with a quick sashay
Wish I had a full tank of gas on this stuck highway

Black ice was rampant, day was gray.
There was no frolicking on this stormy day.
A blizzard appeared in my rearview mirror right away.
Running on empty on a winter’s day
