Run Along

The sweat from my brow
Did roll down my face
Hurt my eye I said “ow”
I call life a rat race

It was wiped with a cloth
So I could once again see
Did it all with one swath
You know nothing is free

And a drink from a cup
While quenching my thirst
It did fill me back up
Not so much I may burst

Time to go back to work
And I can pay all of my bills
Will do it all with a smirk
So I can get all my thrills

As all life will go round
Have to show that I care
I myself won’t be downed
Unless kneeling for prayer

If I grinned
Could you bear it
Have not sinned
Just to share it

Time to send off to my bed
So I may get to some sleep
It is nothing to dread
Just the counting of sheep

Ok off to my dream
Bid you all a good eve
Hey I don’t want to scream
I said “run along leave”
