Rose Meadow

I remember my mother's rose garden ... more a meadow it was full of flowers but her favorites were the roses we both loved the pink best but we loved the others too the yellow, the red, the white and even purple well any color really on summer days I helped mother tend to the roses ... for it was a big job oh, this is a beautiful memory that I keep to visit again and again Yes, I go to this memory often ... how can I not for it is precious these were my happiest days, just me, mother and the roses I can still smell the sweet fragrance of the rose meadow drifting sometime mother set up a table in the meadow for tea time The tea is ready princess she calls ... and that is exactly who I was a princess in my rose meadow, yes, I go back and always will ________________________ April 18, 2023 Poetry/Free Verse/Rose Meadow Copyright Protected, ID 14-1541-268-18 All Rights Reserved, 2023, Constance La France Written for the Standard contest, Rose Meadow sponsor, Julia Ward, Judged 05/18/2023

Pretty as the picture, Constance. I adore roses because they are not hard to care for and they always come back!
