Rose Colored Glasses
You don your rose-colored glasses,
blurring reality's vision.
And see what your eyes want to see,
ignoring the sight of beggars.
To disguise life's uglier side,
you don your rose-colored glasses.
And focus your sight straight ahead,
as though you were wearing blinders.
As you weigh alternative truths,
your heart so much wants to believe.
You don your rose-colored glasses
to camouflage anguish and fears.
Seeing only dreams and wishes,
reality escapes your view.
And when traversing rough patches,
you don your rose-colored glasses.
