Romeo and Juliet

Had Romeo and Juliet Not died a tragic death, I bet They’d both be old and fat and bored; An early exit their reward. For those who perish in their youth (Unlike those longer in the tooth) Leave mem’ries of themselves behind Before their beauty has declined. And thus, our thoughts of them stay fixed In younger days, when life restricts Decisions that they’d both regret, Their destiny in dying’s debt.

I splattered coffee on the screen by line three, thank you very much! After that, the wisdom and poignancy of your words sobered me enough to clean the computer. It survived;-) I award GOTD! and should have an "Insight of the day" award or something, but of course, this is not my area of expertise;-) Simply put — You amaze! ~ j

Such truth in every line Ilene and a very poignant poem for me to read today as I have attended 2 funerals in 2 days - one was an ex student aged just 20, the other a friend aged 81:-( hugs Jan xx
