Rocking Chair With Grandmas Loving Care

The rocking chair
With grandmas loving care
The one that's so old I do declare
My how the generations just slip through the air
As each new little one makes its arrival known
They soon find themselves at grandmas home

With the rocking chair and grandmas loving care
Gifted to her as a child many moons ago
Every child comes to know
This rocking chair with her loving care
Lifes tender moments captured in this rocking chair
That has so much flare

Grandma is always willing to share
All the stories about the chair
Easter to Christmas each year
Grandmas little people get to sit in the rocking chair
Where she loves to share a simple prayer
Making them all aware of the memories
That is forever locked in this chair treasures

Being fare all of us that sat in that rocking chair
Will swear the memories are still there
When we compare similar stories that are so rare
Grandma always makes such a big deal
As she made us all feel so special and real

That only fits as grandma always gets
Her pics shes quite slick
As she doesn't miss a click
She likes when little people grow up
But her favorite is when we all get to sit
In the rocking chair with her loving care

Never time to ask why or forget
It won't be long before another will get to sit
In this rocking chair that we will never forget
One day they too will play as grandma treats them
In her special way

When we come to her house to stay
The whole family really does care
About this rocking chair
The times we all shared
With our grandmothers loving care
Sitting in the rocking chair with so much flare

So sweet and full of care, that chair!...A treasure of a memory for your family, one that this reader appreciates you sharing with us soupers...A thought -- The refrain you penned about 'sitting in the rocking chair with loving care' and its variants in the poem: I immediately envisioned a pantoum poem with that line (and one or two others) as a lovely refrain. Just a thought---you are the poet in charge here...But this reader thinks it would really work quite nicely. Best wishes, gw
