Rock My World

Far away from harsh reality,
Where monotony of life prevails,
Let me live in the dreamiest world,
Every moment to jump with joy,
Folding and unfolding in middle air !

Sitting on the back of giant terrapin,
Dancing to the tunes back and forth,
Rhyming with the drifting sea tides,
Unending rungs of ladder are visible,
Hierarchy of desires, climb up the sky !

Twined strings that take me to heavens,
Where Freedom of body, freedom of spirit,
Get an essence maybe fiction and fantasy,
Truth may be a stranger, fiction is truer,
Be it an illusion, must Rock my world !

Yes Dr...rock your world; dare to branch out of the mainstream roads that have become artificial, complicated and commercialized. Taste the juices that flow in the realm of fantasy. // great write. gl in contest. // paul

Love your poem, Dr. Upma. Yes we do tend to want to escape the "harsh reality" and retreat into our fantasies. Before mass-produced entertainment. What did people do? I suppose they sat around camp-fires at night telling themselves stories. Still it seems that withdrawal-into-fantasy is in high gear nowadays. Maybe its because we are making ourselves into machines, while the mind rebels? Whatever the reason, I feel this tendency is accelerating. Hopefully for the best. Peace...Sam
