Roberta's Song
I can only tell you part
of my Aunt Roberta’s story.
I heard my cousin Cathy say
She’s an angel gone to glory.
She was a friend to all,
a Mother to many
Of enemies in her life
I don’t think she had any.
She took care of people,
it was in her nature,
it was her way,
It’s the reason why
I’m standing here today.
Along with her cooking
you got her opinion
and some good advice.
And if you didn’t get it,
then you got it twice.
They say that
Don’t nobody do ya like family.
Well my Aunt Roberta
treated everybody like family.
A friend,
A Mother,
And to those lucky few...
She was a lover.
Now an angel gone to glory
and this only part of
my Aunt Roberta’s story.
