Nicely done, but snakes and rabbits continue to writhe/leap about after they are dead. There are many tales of snakes snagging people after death, but their nerves do not have that cerebral input. Putting it by the side of the road may have saved the life of one or more raptors/carnivores, so well done, and good luck in the contest! Aloha! Rico

Maureen, no Musa always emails, "True?" So I am asking of you. It's a shame but snakes love to bake on the road. Thinking their thoughts I'm sure they are like, "Hey they came by one day and laid down this rock that goes on for miles."

His name was Snakeroo, an albino California King snake, a constrictor, they eat rattlers :)))

All true, well, I doubt I was late for school. Funny snake thought, accurate for sure. I had a pet snake, briefly... Brought it home, and couldn't hold it without shaking- never been afraid. Realized i had a full blown anxiety disorder and dumped the boyfriend the next day (he got the snake). All true.

Very clever title for this; also a giving friend to animals, I see, really like this, Maureen!

It is a vivid memory! Poor thing, it is really not an easy thing to do, took a few whacks ;) It is the first thing that came to mind with the prompt, such a visceral, growing experience. Thank you Jan :) xomo!
