Roadkill

A few obstacles on my path tried to Leave me as roadkill
Living a nightmare, Tragedies of my past replay, but I won't squeal
Depression beating me, telling me I won't heal
A few obstacles on my path tried to leave me as roadkill

Traveling down the darkest roads, I can't see a thing
a regular guy, who's on his way to being a king
But first I need an angel to come down to fix and clean my wings
Looking at my phone, Hoping I'm going to receive a ring

My shield couldn't protect me from it all so I have wounds & scars attaching
Struggling to walk as I see cars passing
My legs are tired and my shoes are torn
But I will find the blue sky and lose the storm

I've survived the worst, so there isn't a thing I need protection from
You need to be willing to learn before the lesson's gone
I'm starving, but the hunger keeps me going
To get a better future, you have to beat the moments

I was close to giving up, but it's a no from me
If you kicked me while I was down & refused to grow with me
Then you admitted defeat, despite having a head start
You won't beat me, because I have too much heart

A few obstacles on my path tried to Leave me as roadkill
Living a nightmare, Tragedies of my past replay, but I won't squeal
Depression beating me, telling me I won't heal
A few obstacles on my path tried to leave me as roadkill
